Things you may have heard about games which aren’t true…
1) “You have to show up days in advance to get into the games”- with the exception of the Carolina game, if you show up an hour before the game, we’ll get you in. Be there, be loud, be intimidating. Rule #76, no excuses, play like a champion.
2) “No tenting this year because of swine flu”- we will definitely still have tenting this year. If swine flu becomes a problem, we could just end up giving lots of grace.
3) “The Cameron Crazies aren’t the best fans in the country”- we are.
4) “You can’t rush a fraternity or sorority and tent at the same time”- this is definitely doable. We’re also making it easier this year than it has been in the past. Thursdays have been pushed back to midnight, Friday and Saturday are still 2 AM, and we will be cognizant of important rush dates.
5) “You have to know about basketball to go to the games”- we encourage everyone to come to all games. You don’t need to know anything about basketball or our team. You just have to know how to yell loud… REALLY loud.
6) “The Line Monitors are the tenting police”- we’re just a group that helps make sure things run smoothly. You love Duke Basketball. We love Duke Basketball. We’re all on the same team.
7) “Carolina is not a pathetic excuse for a basketball team”- Carolina is indeed a pathetic excuse for a basketball team.
